Get ready to experience the best island hopping tours in Coron, from the famous Kayangan Lake and Twin Lagoon to vibrant coral gardens, hidden beaches, and the majestic limestone cliffs that make Coron Island world-renowned.
Over the two decades we’ve spent travelling, the Philippines has always held a special place in our hearts, easily ranking as one of our favourite South East Asian destinations. On our six separate trips across the Philippines, we’ve explored many regions, but visiting Coron and the surrounding islands of Northern Palawan has been our standout favourite.
Known as the “Last Frontier of the Philippines,” Palawan is one of the most biodiverse and breathtaking regions in the country. With 100s of islands, lagoons, and secluded beaches from Banana Island and Malcapuya Island to the remote Black Island, it’s a true island paradise waiting to be explored.
“Palawan BLEW OUR MINDS…. Especially Coron, what an incredible mix of beauty, nature and adventure!”

Where to stay in Coron Palawan
Coron is quite spread out, with no real central tourist hub. To be honest, Coron Town proper itself isn’t much, so I’d recommend choosing accommodation with good facilities and great restaurants rather than relying on the town. Having a comfortable base makes a big difference, especially if you’re planning full-day island hopping tours or scuba diving trips around Coron Bay.
We stayed at Bacau Bay Resort Coron and absolutely loved it. The location was ideal, close enough to Coron Town for convenience but tucked away just enough to feel private and peaceful. The resort features its own private jetty with netted daybeds, perfect for enjoying the sunset or their afternoon happy hour after a day of exploring the surrounding islands. Add in a fantastic restaurant, a beautiful pool area, and attentive service, and it made for a truly relaxing stay in Northern Palawan.
They also offer private boat island hopping tours to Kayangan lake, Twin lagoon, Barracuda lagoon and dive sites.
You can check it out here: Bacau Bay Resort Coron

Other Resorts we considered and were on our SAVED Coron Hotel list were:
Tag Resort Coron: Tag Resort Coron is a modern eco-luxury property that blends tropical style with comfort. Located just outside Coron Town, it’s a great choice if you want easy access to island hopping tours around Coron Bay while still enjoying resort-style amenities. With its lush gardens, lagoon-style pool, and stylish rooms, it’s a solid option for travellers looking to stay in Coron with a touch of sophistication.
Two Season Bayside Hotel: Two Seasons Bayside Hotel offers one of the best views in Coron Town, right on the bayfront. Known for its spacious suites, infinity pool, and proximity to the pier. This hotel is perfect for those who want a central yet upscale base for going out on island hopping trips.

How to get to Coron Palwan
Before you start planning your Coron Palawan itinerary, it’s important to know the best ways to get to Coron, whether you’re flying directly into Busuanga Island or arriving by boat from nearby destinations like El Nido or Puerto Princesa.
Where is Coron Palawan
Coron is located in North Palawan, a region celebrated for its dramatic landscapes and untouched natural beauty. Sitting on Busuanga Island, Coron serves as the gateway to some of the most breathtaking sights in the Philippines, including Coron Island with its towering limestone cliffs, hidden lakes, and pristine beaches. Highlights like the enchanting Twin Lagoon and vibrant Coral Gardens showcase why this part of Palawan is such a dream for snorkellers, divers, and adventure seekers alike.
Arriving by flight to Busuanga Airport – Coron Palawan
The easiest and most direct route to Coron is by direct flight from Manila to Busuanga airport, Coron Palawan. You can take Cebu Pacific Air, Zest Air or PAL Express.
From Busuanga airport, you can PRE-BOOK a transfer for as little as $5 or negotiate upon arrival and take a jeepney or van for about one hour to reach Coron Town. I like the idea of having it all arranged and someone waiting for me, especially for that price. Pre-book your airport transfer
Arriving by ferry to Coron (from El Nido)
You can catch a daily ferry to / or from El Nido to Coron: Coron-Elnido-Palawan-Ferry
These do sell out so definitely pre-book your tickets or risk missing out!
3 Day / 2 Night El Nido to Coron Palawan Expedition Boat Trip
Alternatively you can book a 2 night / 3 Day Boat Expedition: 3D2N El Nido to Coron Expedition This expedition can be booked in either direction.
This is an OFF THE GRID ‘back to basics’ expedition, that explores the remote islands between Coron and El Nido Palawan. Included is all your meals and accommodation in remote base camps in traditional Nipa Huts. This is a bucketlist adventure and there is no better way to travel between El Nido and Coron.
